Checklist
Grant readiness checklist
Funders ask for many of the same documents. Having these current and in one folder makes every application faster. Requirements vary, so always follow each funder’s instructions.
- IRS determination letter (or fiscal sponsor agreement)
- Articles of incorporation and bylaws
- Current board of directors list with affiliations
- Mission statement and a short organizational history
- Current year organizational budget
- Most recent financial statements, and audit if available
- Most recent IRS Form 990
- Program descriptions with goals and outcomes
- Key staff and volunteer leadership bios
- Core policies, such as conflict of interest
- Recent impact data and stories
- Letters of support or partnership, when needed
